I’ve used consultants in the past, but they haven’t worked out for me or my agency. What makes you different?

That’s a very common experience, and a completely fair concern. Many agencies have worked with consultants who deliver polished recommendations but little lasting impact.

My background is firmly rooted in creative operations. With over 25 years in the industry, I’ve worked my way from Junior Designer to Executive Operations Director at a global agency before moving into consultancy. That experience means I understand the realities of running a creative business - not just in theory, but under real commercial and delivery pressure.

I don’t apply generic frameworks or off-the-shelf solutions. Everything starts with a proper assessment of how your agency works, where profit is being made or lost, and what’s realistically achievable. The recommendations are shaped around your objectives, whether that’s improving margins, reducing operational friction, scaling more confidently, or preparing for a future exit.

My focus is deliberately narrow. I work exclusively on operational challenges - how work is scoped, delivered, resourced, and measured. I’m not here to advise on business development or positioning. That clarity of focus is what allows me to go deep and deliver practical, commercially grounded advice.

I also work collaboratively. Rather than telling teams what should happen, I work alongside leadership to understand what can happen, and how change can be implemented in a way that actually sticks.

Finally, I keep things flexible and transparent. There are no long-term commitments or retainers you’re locked into. We start with a free call to assess fit, and any work is scoped clearly and priced based on what you genuinely need. The aim is simple - to deliver value you can see, measure, and build on.

I have an internal team - why do I need an external consultant?

It’s the old adage of working ‘in’ a business rather than ‘on’ it. As a busy agency owner or director, you’re likely overwhelmed with the daily issues that demand your attention. When do you ever get the chance to step back and take a clear, strategic look at your agency as a whole?

By working with me, you’ll gain access to an expert who understands what it takes to run a successful creative business. I also bring the advantage of an unbiased, ‘bird’s-eye view’ of your agency. This perspective allows me to make objective recommendations that are firmly rooted in what’s best for your agency’s future.

Leadership can be isolating. Having someone experienced to act as a confidential sounding board can help you navigate the tough decisions needed to move your agency forward. As your trusted advisor, I work with you to clarify your goals and support you in achieving them.

Will you just give me a report and recommendations, or do you help with implementation too?

I don’t believe in delivering a report, presenting a set of recommendations, and then walking away. Insight without action rarely leads to meaningful change - and agencies don’t need more documents sitting on a shared drive.

My work is designed to support leadership teams beyond diagnosis. Yes, I’ll help you clearly understand what’s holding the agency back and what needs to change, but I’ll also support you to implement those changes in practice.

That can include prioritising recommendations, turning them into a realistic roadmap, supporting decision-making, working with your team to embed new ways of working, and staying close as changes are tested and refined under real delivery pressure. The aim is progress, not perfection - and ensuring improvements actually stick.

How hands-on that support is depends on what you need. Some agencies want structured check-ins and accountability, others want more embedded, fractional support. Either way, I stay involved long enough to help you move from insight to impact, not just intention.

How much do you charge?

I work with each agency on a bespoke basis, so I don’t offer fixed-price packages. Instead, I tailor my services to suit your specific needs. Here are the ways we can work together:

Project-by-Project: We can agree on a set fee for an audit and the level of optimisation your agency requires. The fee remains fixed, and I take responsibility for keeping everything on track.

Fractional Support: I can dedicate a set number of days each week to actively support your team. It’s like having a team member embedded within your agency, focused on helping you achieve your goals.

Ops On Demand: You can purchase pre-paid hours to use as needed. The more hours you buy upfront, the more cost-effective it becomes.

Depending on your requirements and budget, we can agree on a fee and payment structure that works for you and aligns with your objectives.
